after you click on Start Scan I get a XDelBox.com popup saying Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\toolbar with an ok button I click on the OK button, then the Services Items Checking progress bar completes, then it just sits there doing nothing and I let it sit there for serveral hours
Did not remove the Google Search virus. FOund 2 other small ones, but not the primary ones I was having a problem with.
sarchon verbain hung up about halfway through Online Analysis. Did not find any threats and did not remove the thing it’s being touted for –browser search redirect. A waste of time.

Identified a critical infection but would not remove it. Did nothing! Also I could not turn my main anti-virus protection back on and had to reboot. I too was looking to eradicate the Google search virus.
Rich Froze during service checking. I would not rely on this as the answer to google redirect.
Tim Scott Found program that removed Google redirect called Malwarebytes the free version did that trick but I went ahead and purchased to keep the good guys working. the url is http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Janspeed this fix worked for the Trojan.Win32.FakeSpypro, it took that piece of shit off my netbook and i love it… THANK YOU i looked all day for a solution and most of these sites are fuckin scams, but xdelbox is the REAL DEAL Yo!!!!

if you had fakeSpyPro you have something else there too. Usually a trojan delivers it along with a few other tidbits.

This located Trojan.Win32.FakeSpypro
Didn’t remove it, but I deleted it and its directory from the command line. Removed the reference to it using regedit, and now we’re clean.
(Kaspersky and AVG weren’t finding it, for some reason.)

Fred Dexter did not remove infection atapi.sys although it detected it and said it was fixed. I rebooted as directed and ran the scan again and atapi.sys was again detected as infecred.
bottom line…this does NOT work.
I removed it from my computer.

ddan XDelBox froze up half way through Online Analysis. After 10 minutes I knew something was wrong and just killed the program. This needs to be fixed so it will be useful.

LarryFromVegas Getting Google & Yahho redirect on IE7/8 browsers. Ran your program, found 1 virus [7n8001] but not sure if this is the culprit. Got error message, “Cannot create file \C:\ . . . \hosts” Other suggestions?
You don’t use this for Google or Yahoo redirect. If you want to fix that problem, download ComboFix. That should fix that problem.
Steve I have the Google Hijacker. This did nothing to find or remove the virus.
Ron I ran this two times while also running Adaware and it did the trick.
BleedColtsBlue I downloaded this and it stopped the problem for about a day and then I started having the same redirect problem again. Even worse, xdelbox no longer worked.
I downloaded another free spyware removal program and it successfully cleaned atapi.sys
No more problems so far.
Jimmy I have the google redirect problem. It found some things which definitely weren’t viruses. But it also found soome things that probably were. Unfrtunately clicking the fix checked button did nothing.
Chris I was kinda wary of downloading this but I needed to get that fakespypro crap off. Windows Defender removed it all, but after every reboot it would come back. Used this and found the file that was doing this, wybjsysguard.exe
This was the only thing that fixed my problem of Google redirects. Apparently I had a root kit that everything else passed by. I used a Kaspersky Rescue Disk. There is a version of it on softpedia.com. Hope this solves someones problem

i cannot remove rsosa.sys with any ani malware, it is a myth. You must re-install windows
Zipped files included only XDelScan.exe. When executed I get an error message titled “XDelScan.exe – Unable To Locate Component” and a message “this application has failed to start becuase srupload.dll was not found. Re-installeing the application may fix the problem” It did not.

I had some sort of redirect of search results virus/malware that was really annoying.
Malwarebytes could not remove it.
Spy Sweeper would catch the redirect and allow the result after a retry but could not remove it.
XDelBox removed it after a 5 minute sweep!

I used this programme, it found my atapi.sys and givieo.sys, i went to click fix it and the button seemed to do nothing? This seems to be one of the few programmes that actually fixes this annoying google redirect virus, any help would be amazing. Thanks

Smitty I haven’t tried XDelbox but did try ComboFix. Combofix is found at http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/combofix/how-to-use-combofix (follow the directions carefully). It says it will take a long time (and it does — about 30 minutes or so in my case) but it worked like a charm! Google redirect problem is gone. Can’t say enough about Combofix!!

It deleted system files and put it in the quarantine folder which made Internet not working and some system files don’t work. Shouldn’t of used it.

Totally agree that this software is useless. My computer is affected by Rootkit.Win32.TDSS.d which Kaspersky has no power to remove. XdelBox has not detected this virus or any other virus (0 malware).Sorry, guys. I’m dissapointed.

Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and install. i Promise it will remove this virus. I have experienced this problem before and thats what i used.
